Itaewon Korean Street Food Tebet

After the incident with Sate Taichan, my still hungry boyfriend and I went to this place right beside the Sate Taichan. It's Itaewon Korean Street Food.

Itaewon offers you some food, not many on their menu but enough to fulfill your hunger of Korean food.

We ordered this chicken wings (I forgot the Korean name) and it tasted good!
It tasted sweet and crispy, kind of oily but that because they deep-fried it.
I can actually eat all of these but I need to remember I bring my boyfriend with me. ^^;

The price is also kinda satisfying.

Sate Taichan Tebet

My first reaction after I saw what I ordered was:
"SERIOUSLY???"

I haven't tasted Sate Taichan anywhere before.
That night, me and my boyfriend were so hungry we decided to eat something.
So we rode to Tebet Utara (where are the distro chaos happened) and tried this Sate Taichan.

The sate is seriously made for snack.
The portion is so little, if you expect something that will make your tummy full, you won't have it here. The worse thing is, the taste is kinda... weird.

It tastes kinda sour.
I think that' because it's sate Taichan.
Even though I was kinda suspicious, "is it because the sate is expired already?"

The meat is chicken (I hope it's chicken) and it is not chewable.
It's kind of hard to munch it.
The only good new is, the sambal is so spicy.
But the taste of the sambal is... Only spicy.

The price?
My boyfriend needed to pay around 38k for two (small) portion of Sate Taichan.

After the incident, my boyfriend called this sate as "Sate Bercanda", because, you know, it looks like it's only kidding! :")

Kaaramel Juice Tebet

This is one of my most favorite beverages in Tebet!

Do you ever feel so depressed because you don't like to eat (or drink) healthy?
No worries, because now you can drink healthy in Kaaramel Juice!

Kaaramel juice is a juice booth that you can find in front of Alfamart Tebet Utara (near all the distro chaos). I think it's only open at night, but maybe you can buy it and drink it in the morning. ^^

The most interesting part is, Kaaramel Juice is the winner of Mandiri Wirausaha Muda competition, Jabodetabek chapter. So I believe there must be a good reason why this juice came up as the first winner, and since the first time I tasted the juice, I knew why.

The booth is quite eye-catching

First time I ordered the juice, I asked for Strawberry Rum Raisin without the raisin. ^^;

And if you ever believe in love at the first taste, that's what happened between me and the Strawberry Rum Raisin. The sweet and smooth texture of the juice melted perfectly in my mouth. Seriously, that was the best strawberry juice I've ever tasted (with price below 20k) and the combination of strawberry and wheat actually produced something magical.

Kaaramel juice has a lot more options for you.

I've tasted 5 kind of juice so far and I liked most of them.

This Strawberry Rum Raisin is still my favorite tho.

Everything looks fresh and tasty

I've tasted many and my favorite one for the energy boosting section is Strawberry Rum Raisin (without raisin) while the winner of healthy section is Healthy Green (I guess that's the name? I kinda forget).

I haven't tried this one but the name is so cute it looks like mine, hehe:

Mie Ayam Pinky Tebet

Welcome to my ship, fellas!

As a welcome gift for you all, I am going to review an interesting breakfast choice in Tebet, South Jakarta. The name's Mie Ayam Pinky! (I am not entirely sure about the name but I knew this chicken noodle from a food blogger and s/he called it Mie Ayam Pinky, so)

It may be a little bit too much for breakfast, so I don't really recommend you to have this every day. Hehe. ^^

First, you may want to know where can you get this chicken noodle. 

You need to go to Tebet Barat Dalam, it's located near Pasar PSPT, but NOT in the market area. It is actually located right in front of Cake Lab (and I guess Cake Lab had already has its own pin on Google map so you can try searching for Cake Lab instead) and it's ONLY open from 8 am to 10 am in the morning, so yes you can't have it as dinner.

Here's what you are going to see if you get in the right direction.

It's actually unusual for us to see the back of the chef. They usually have so many customers that will stand all around the chef and make it hard for us to see the back side of the chef. (My mother addresses this chicken noodle as "Mie Ayam yang Punggung Abangnya Ga Keliatan" because of that reason! ^^)

So, I ordered two Yamin noodle for me and my boyfriend. It didn't take too long for the chef to cook our order, but seriously it depends on the crowd. We're lucky there were not too many customers that day. So we got our noodles within 10 minutes.

So here's the noodle! I am VERY sorry if the picture makes you lose your appetite because I forgot I wanted to review this at that time and when I already mixed the whole thing, I remembered. ^^;

How does it taste?

- The texture of the noodle is good. It is not that chewy and also not too soft. It's just right.

- If you are a spicy person (definition: you love spicy food) you can ask for extra sambal because to me the sambal is not spicy at all.

- Beside the texture of the noodle, everything else taste ordinary. Nothing special, just your usual yamin noodle.

- If you want to have some take away, I recommend you to eat this within 1 hour because one time I took it away to my office and when I ate it at my lunch time, it tasted different. The taste is deteriorate.

- It will only cost you around 10k. Cheap breakfast, happy tummy.

The good thing about this chicken noodle is, they make their own noodle (and that explains why it tasted good) and it always finishes every day. So you will always order (and eat) fresh noodle every day. ^^
